Jack Sleeth has an impressive background in the area of education and public entity law. He has conducted seminars and workshops to help community colleges and school districts train their employees in the eradication of discriminatory practices. Jack is a seasoned trial attorney who has handled the defense of community colleges in litigation ranging from wrongful termination to wrongful death allegations. Jack has been a frequent speaker on topics such as special education, navigating federal and superior courts, sexual harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, FMLA and ADA compliance training. He has extensive experience in evaluations of Brown Act meeting notice and content compliance, as well as analysis of Public Records Act application.

Jack has also handled a number of appeals in State and Federal courts related to public schools. He has a strong background in first amendment issues, including religion in schools, freedom of speech, civil rights and discrimination. Jack provides school districts with advice concerning certificated and classified personnel, collective bargaining issues, charter schools, and the Brown and Public Records Acts. He has had several reported cases, including Olsen by Sheldon v. Government of Mexico 729 F.2d 641 (9th Cir. 1984); Korshak v. Atlas Hotels (1992) 2 Cal.App.4th 1516; Brown v. Poway Unified School District (1993) 4 Cal.4th 820; Harper v. Poway Unified School District (9th Cir. 2006) 455 F.3d 1052; Shirk v. Vista Unified Sch. Dist. (2007) 42 Cal.4th 201 and Austin B/Jessica B. v. Escondido Elem Sch. Dist. (2007) 149 Cal.App.4th 860.

Jack is admitted to the California and Arizona State Bars, all California Federal District Courts and the United States Supreme Court Bar. He is currently a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and San Diego Defense Lawyers Association. Jack also served as an elected school Board Member, Board of Education, Morongo Unified School District, 29 Palms California, 1973-1975. He has been practicing law for over 25 years.
